This is... awesome. I have an autistic son who can speak, but refuses to... so I will be looking into this. Odd, that no one suggested anything like this to me. I'm glad that I stumbled onto this video! Lots of help. (And the baby is just adorable!!)

Sign language develops at the same rate as spoken language if the child has the same exposure to sign language and it even follows the same patterns e.g. "babbling" one sound or action over and over. exposing your baby to both spoken and sign language will certainly not cause problems - it is basically like being bilinugal, which has been found to improve general linguistic skills. Like smarthandsca said, she's saying all the words at the same time so baby will definately not miss out!
