One of my cats nearly took my dogs eye out when my dog was a puppy - we had to dig her claw out and rush her to the vets. I was so worried that she would lose her eye - luckily she was okay with no permanent damage. That cat has since died a few years ago from old age, and my dog gets on very well with my two black bombays who love her to bits, but she has never forgotten that near fatal swipe, and she doesn't let them anywhere near her eyes to this day.

I have a dog practically identical to your gorgeous little one, she used to do the same to our cat, playing but it can be so dangerous for the dogs eyes, twice we had to rush our dog to the vets cos the cornea of her eye was badly scratched from our cats claws, our vet told us cats can blind dogs with their razor sharp claws, its in their natural defensive nature to do so I noticed u put up a gate, thats a very good idea and what we did too Our dog has matured now shes 4 and leaves our cat alone

man i had a black cat befor we named him mr. jingles cuz of the bell he would where around his neck well anyway him and my 2 small dogs that i have would play together but now i don't know where he is dang kitty ran off T^T

poor little puppy.. hes just trying to play and cat is like attacking him :( and the puppy becomes all scared aww.

Hey everyone! shut up! not every dog person is a cat person and not every cat person is a dog person! stop trying to convince one another to love the other! and thumbing down comments about how they don't like cats or dogs is ridiculous!
